Aliki Dictator, 1972

Greek film 'I Aliki diktator (Aliki Dictator)'.
'Young Aliki, after the death of her father, Mr. Nestoras, who was the general administrator of a theatrical company, takes the road to Athens with her sole companion Arapis, her dog. The orphaned girl, who successfully imitates Charlot (The little tramp), stays at the house of Mrs. Amalia. The latter already has five children and is expecting the sixth, getting by with great difficulty because her never-do-well husband is in and out of prison all the time. Aliki, in order to survive and help Mrs. Amalia, tries to find a job. She doesn't succeed, however, and so is forced to give performances on the street, impersonating Charlot from the film The Great Dictator. In the meantime, she meets a blind law student, Petros, who is heartlessly abandoned by his girlfriend, who didn't really love him. The death of her dog, Arapis, brings the two young people closer and an innocent love blooms between them.' Written by Greek Film Archive
